School Semesters
The school year is divided into two semesters:

• Fall semester: Starts after the summer vacations of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, ends on January 31st.
• Spring semester: Starts on February 1, ends with the beginning of the summer vacations of the Canton Basel-Stadt. 

The vacations of the Music School are based on the vacations of the Canton of Basel-Stadt. The exact dates can be found on the website of the Department of Education BS.

Cancellation
Cancellation of classes must be made in writing to the secretary's office.

• Deadline spring semester: December 1
• Deadline fall semester: May 15

If you withdraw during the semester, you must pay for the entire semester. For exceptions, see our Terms and Conditions.
